hola, it's me, Liz

Hello Blogosphere,

So to kick things off the right way, let's start with the question that's burning in my mind.

Is it too much to ask for what people wear on their heads to not look fake?

I mean honestly, I understand that many people have forgotten that the original purpose of a wig was for it to masquerade as .... your hair! Nowadays, the things people have on their heads cannot be mistaken for anything other than distractions.

Please don't mistake my disdain for folks with horrible weaves and wigs as a thinly veiled attack on hair extensions or chemical processes. As a natural hair wearing woman, I'm not hating on the folks that choose to chemically straighten their hair or wear weaves, I just don't believe that I should know that you've chosen to wear a weave or wig! Now I've had quite a few weaves and wigs in my day, and I'm certain that at least a few have been questionable, but I'm older and wiser now. I expect more from myself and more should be expected of me as well.

Also, where are these women's friends? or all of you so afflicted by distractingwig/weaveitis that your own inflamed wig/weave is blinding you from seeing the atrocity on your friend's head? I'm just saying! Your friend should let you know that whatever you have going on with the unnatural looking hair is a mess!

So this is my charge to you all, please please do not wear any hair extension that does not easily blend with your hair, does not flow and bounce like real hair, or that is a color that God didn't intend for humans to have their hair!

Look good but make sense,

Liz
